foRMAtion Module Alliance

The foRMAtion Educational Module is a unique and innovative undertaking aiming to train university students as future RMAs. The two-semester-long course provides a helicopter view on Research Management and Administration and boosts the relevant skills and competencies of students to make the profession appealing as a potential career choice.

The teaching of the educational module is supported by the foRMAtion international curriculum and the Teaching material for the foRMAtion international module for future Research Managers and Administrators. The module was primarily designed for students at Bachelor or Master Programmes from any scientific fields as an elective course. However, the module was built in a flexible manner enabling its adoption and adaptation by a wide range of different institutional set-ups. It can be taught in online, offline and hybrid teaching environment.

• You can adapt the curriculum and the teaching material to the institutional frames and the student needs
• We will support you by carrying out evaluation and impact assessment to ensure the quality of the programmes provided

  • As a teacher you can get more in-depth knowledge in science policy and government, preparation and management of EU funded research and innovation projects, as well as in the outreach and engagement of stakeholders.
  • As an RMA you get the opportunity to reflect on what you are doing on an everyday basis, learn innovative and digital teaching tools as well as the basics of project based learning.

To formally join the Alliances there is one step to take: you need to complete, sign and return our Letter of Intent for the Educational Module Alliance to the address indicated on the form acknowledging your consent to respect our values and principles.

Tentative event schedule until 2024:

• 29 November 2022, 15:30 – 18:30 Brussels (before the foRMAtion final event): short training for teachers and trainers on how to use the foRMAtion Modules
• End of January 2023: online consultation and sharing experiences within the community of practice
• June 2023: trainings on the foRMAtion educational module for new members of the Alliances – experiences and lessons learnt from foRMAtion experts
• September 2023: online consultation and sharing experiences within the community of practice
• January 2024: trainings on the foRMAtion educational module for new members of the Alliance – experiences and lessons learnt from foRMAtion experts
